What St. Augustine Customers
Need to Know Before Renting
St. Augustine has unique considerations that other dumpster companies may not know — from historic district permit requirements to HOA gate access in master-planned communities. Here is what you need to know.
No permit is needed to place a dumpster on your private driveway or property anywhere in St. Johns County. However, if placement is needed on a public street or right-of-way, a St. Johns County Right-of-Way Permit is required. For properties in or near the City of St. Augustine's historic district, the City also requires a separate permit for any street placement. We can help you navigate this — just let us know your address when you book and we will advise you on exactly what is needed.
All debris we collect in St. Augustine is hauled to properly licensed St. Johns County transfer stations including the Tillman Ridge Transfer Station in Elkton (3005 Allen Nease Road) and the Stratton Road Transfer Station. Hazardous materials, paint, tires, and electronics cannot go in the dumpster — contact St. Johns County Solid Waste at (904) 827-6980 for guidance on those items.
St. Johns County has some of the most active HOA communities in Northeast Florida — Palencia, World Golf Village, SilverLeaf, Nocatee, and others all have gated entries or HOA approval requirements.
